High Country planning guide

Choosing wallpaper for a High Country home

A High Country home may bring together timber, stone, broad views, and cozy rooms. Wallpaper can complement that character while giving each space its own mood. Start with the feeling you want, then consider the pattern in the context of the home.

Begin with the room

Think about whether it should feel restful, dramatic, bright, or especially welcoming. A bedroom, entry, powder room, and open living space can each carry pattern differently. Photos of the room in daylight and in the evening help show the space as you experience it.

Look at the whole palette

Consider wallpaper alongside visible wood, stone, flooring, furnishings, and trim. Bring samples into the room when possible and look at them in the light the space actually gets. A pattern in a sample book can read differently across a full wall.

Share the details before installation

When you contact an installer, share the town, room photos, approximate wall dimensions if available, and the wallcovering name or product information. You can also ask who will handle wall preparation, what to do with furniture, and what timing to plan around.
